to Work
Judge David Gelfound has proudly served as a Superior Court Judge for the last 14 years.
He is currently the Supervising Judge of the North Valley District, which includes much of the San Fernando Valley. He supervises 27 judicial officers and handles felony matters involving defendants with mental health and or substance abuse issues.
Judge Gelfound has presided over some of the most complex criminal cases in Los Angeles County, including murder, sexual assault and domestic violence.
A respected member of the Judiciary, The San Fernando Valley Bar Association recognized David Gelfound as “Judge of the Year” in 2019.
David Gelfound has been endorsed for re-election by over 175 sitting and retired Superior Court Judges.
Judge Gelfound is committed to community service, helping to establish the Teen Court program at Northridge Academy High School. He also participates in a judicial mentor program which is designed to promote qualified and diverse candidates to apply for positions with the Superior Court.
David Gelfound was raised in the San Fernando Valley and attended local public schools before graduating from UCLA and Pepperdine Law School.
